Sharon FD, Good Samaritans Assist With Two-Alarm Fire in Easton

Two Good Samaritans assisted in escorting one resident out of a burning building.

The Sharon Fire Department assisted other nearby fire officials with a two-alarm fire that caused extensive damage to a garage and house in Easton Sunday afternoon. Thanks in part to two good Samaritans, though, nobody was injured. Easton Fire Chief Kevin Partridge said residents Mike Boyd and Bob Cummings were driving by 331 Bay Rd. when they saw the entire garage of the house engulfed in flames. Resident Robert Thorton was outside calling to his wife Anthea, who was inside the house. She wasn't hearing him and was unaware of the fire to the adjacent garage. Boyd and Cummings sprung to action - entering the house and escorting Anthea Thorton from the building. "I want to thank them," Partridge said. "We’re very appreciative of them." …

Sharon FD Assists With Two-Alarm Fire in Stoughton Monday Night

A fire at 19 Churchill Road in Stoughton caused severe damage to the property, although there were no injuries.

The Sharon and Easton Fire Departments provided station coverage in Stoughton as fire crews in that town tended to a two-alarm fire Monday night. The blaze caused severe damage to a single family home in Stoughton Monday, according to Stoughton Fire Captain Bob O'Donnell. Group 4, under the command of Captain O'Donnell, responded to a report of a bedroom fire at 19 Churchill Ave. (side road off Lincoln St.) at 6:24 p.m. Jan. 7. The fire started in a first floor bedroom in the front of the home and spread to both levels. Two-Alarm Fire at Canton Home The cause of a two-alarm fire that ignited at a home on Chapman Street in Canton Tuesday night was the result of an accidental electrical issue, Canton Fire Chief Charles E. Sharon, Area Firefighters Battle Mansfield Blaze

No serious injuries reported.

Two people escaped serious injury after a two-alarm house fire in Mansfield this morning. Several area fire departments, including Sharon, responded to 50 Park St. in Mansfield for the incident, which was reported around 11 a.m. "There was heavy fire showing," Mansfield Fire Chief Neal Boldrighini said. "The whole porch was fully involved on arrivial." Two occupants got outside without injury, he said. No serious injuries were reported. The fire's cause has not been determined, Boldrighini said. Boldrighini said the fire itself was difficult to fight due to downed and live electrical lines arcing in the driveway.
