Winter Storm Watch Issued for Monday Afternoon, Tuesday Morning

Several inches of snow could fall in Eastern Massachusetts from the winter storm.

A snow storm will roll into Eastern Massachusetts Monday afternoon and continue through Tuesday morning, dumping a few inches of snow in the area. Forecasters say snow will start hitting the Massachusetts coast at about 5 p.m. Monday, and then drop 3-5 inches of snow along near the coast and 1 to 3 inches inland, according to the WHDH Channel 7 forecast. Most of the snow is expected to fall on Tuesday. The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch beginning Monday afternoon. The heaviest snow will be along the coast of Massachusetts, where 4 to 8 inches of snow could fall, but the storm watch includes the cities of Boston and Cambridge. Snow Threatens Sharon Area's Wednesday Night Travel

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch today.

Sharon residents may face longer evening commutes Wednesday. The National Weather Service in Taunton today issued a Winter Storm Watch from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon. Locally, the alert covers such areas as Foxborough, Norwood, Boston and Cambridge, according to the agency's website. The weather service forecasts "3 to 5 inches of snow and up to a tenth of an inch of ice." Sharon Patch will update this story as details become available.
