The number of completed foreclosures in Sharon was up in March, according to data released Thursday. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, saw two foreclosure deeds (or completed foreclosures) in the month, up from one in March 2011. Foreclosure petitions (which represent newly started foreclosures) jumped from zero to five year-over-year. The state saw a 55 percent increase in foreclosure petitions, with 1,621 in the month, up from 1,048 in March 2011. Massachusetts has had a 71.5 percent increase in petitions in the first quarter. The data, released by real estate information firm The Warren Group, had 12 homes being sold in March, up from nine in March 2011. In Massachusetts, home sales increased 20 percent year-over-year. Sharon saw its January home sales go up 40 percent year-over-year, according to data released today. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, showed 14 home sales in Sharon last month, up from the 10 sold in January 2011. Massachusetts saw a 3 percent overall increase in sales in January, ending up with its highest January sales volume since 2007. The data, compiled by real estate information firm The Warren Group, showed 183 home sales in 2011, up from 163, a just over 12 percent increase, last year. December had a 31 percent increase in home sales, from 13 last year to 17 this year. The state sold its lowest number of homes since 1990, with 38,994, down from 41,389 last year.
