Sharon FD Assists With Two-Alarm Fire in Stoughton Monday Night

A fire at 19 Churchill Road in Stoughton caused severe damage to the property, although there were no injuries.

The Sharon and Easton Fire Departments provided station coverage in Stoughton as fire crews in that town tended to a two-alarm fire Monday night. The blaze caused severe damage to a single family home in Stoughton Monday, according to Stoughton Fire Captain Bob O'Donnell. Group 4, under the command of Captain O'Donnell, responded to a report of a bedroom fire at 19 Churchill Ave. (side road off Lincoln St.) at 6:24 p.m. Jan. 7. The fire started in a first floor bedroom in the front of the home and spread to both levels. Sharon FD Assists with Two-Alarm Christmas Eve Fire in Stoughton

A two-alarm fire on Kenmore Road in Stoughton caused extensive damage, but there were no injuries.

Sharon fire officials aided the Stoughton Fire Department with a two-alarm fire that caused extensive damage to a Stoughton home on Christmas Eve, according to Stoughton Fire Department officials. The Stoughton Fire Department received a call at 9:13 p.m. on Dec. 24 for a fire at a single-story wood-frame dwelling at 38 Kenmore Road in Stoughton, SFD Captain Don Jasmin said. A fire on the first floor extended in to the attic space, according to Jasmin. The home has extensive damage, but there were no reported injuries to any of the home's occupants or to the first responders who were on scene, Jasmin said. Norton Man Cited for Leaving Scene of Route 24 Fatal Massachusetts State Police have issued a citation to the man who was allegedly operating the vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian on Route 24 northbound in Randolph early Sunday morning, July 29 (around 1:15 a.m.). Shane Wilson, 20, of Norton was issued a citation with a single charge of leaving the scene after causing personal injury resulting in death, David Traub, spokesman for Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Fire Strikes Former Stoughton Machine Shop

A fire at a former machine shop on Southworth Court in Stoughton caused moderate damage to the front corner of the brick building early Sunday evening. The structure is now used as storage for building materials by its owner, Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff said. Sharon and Canton firefighters assisted Stoughton at the scene. The fire at the end of Southworth Court, off Canton Street, started around 6 p.m. on a large stack of pallets very close to the building, before spreading to the roof area and then the interior, Dolloff said. Sharon FD Assists at Early Morning Fire in Stoughton

The three-alarm fire left 17 homeless.

An early morning three-alarm fire at a home on Park Street in Stoughton has displaced 17 people, including an infant, Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff said. Crews from Avon, Brockton, Canton, Easton, Holbrook and Sharon all responded to the scene at 34/36 Park St., as did investigators from the Massachusetts Fire Marshal's office and the Providence Canteen Unit. Firefighters received a call at 1:22 a.m. for a smell of smoke at that address There were heavy fire conditions in this large 2.5 story wood frame structure, according to the Stoughton Fire Department's Facebook page. Rollover on Bay Road in Stoughton Injures Elderly Driver

Stoughton and Sharon firefighters responded to the Thursday afternoon crash.

A blue four-door sedan flipped over on Bay Road in Stoughton, trapping an elderly woman inside and injuring her, late Thursday afternoon. The woman, who was driving the car, was taken to the Boston Medical Center after the 4:31 p.m. accident at 2000 Bay Road. She sustained multiple injuries, but they are not considered to be life-threatening, Stoughton Fire Capt. Bob O'Donnell said. The car struck a roadside embankment and overturned, trapping the driver,  O'Donnell said. Stoughton and Sharon firefighters extricated her, O'Donnell said.

Stoughton Family and Their Dogs Escape Fire

Sharon firefighters were among those assisting at the scene.

Five members of a Stoughton family and their four dogs escaped a fire that significantly damaged the rear of their home Saturday. The 2:01 p.m. fire at 49 Winfisky Drive, off Bay Road and near Cobb's Corner, drew Stoughton Police, as well as firefighters from Stoughton, Sharon, Avon, Canton and Easton. "The first arriving companies had heavy fire and heavy black smoke coming from the home. You could see it from approximately half a mile away," Stoughton Fire Chief Mark Dolloff said. "The fire traveled throughout the attic area [and] also through the whole basement area. [Firefighters] had to open up a lot of walls to find the fire throughout the building." Stoughton, Sharon FD Respond to Early A.M. Crash

The driver was ejected from his vehicle.

A car struck a utility pole on Central Street in Stoughton early this morning, seriously injuring the driver and causing a power outage. Sharon and Stoughton firefighters responded to the crash, which happened at 1:27 a.m. at 1906 Central St., near Mill Street, Stoughton Fire Capt. Robert O'Donnell said. The crash broke the pole in half, bringing down wires, O'Donnell said. The driver, a male, was ejected from the vehicle and found unconscious underneath the front bumper of the car, O’Donnell said. With a medical helicopter unavailable, an ambulance took the driver to the Boston Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, O'Donnell said.  The driver's name was not available. Sharon FD Assists at Easton Kitchen Fire

No injuries were reported.

A kitchen fire damaged a two-story home on Bay Road in Easton on Saturday, but no injuries were reported. Sharon firefighters assisted Easton at the fire, which was reported at 159 Bay Road in Easton at 12:27 p.m. The fire was contained to the first floor kitchen. Easton Fire Captain Tony Gomes said a fire in a wood stove caught some combustibles adjacent to it and spread. The damage was confined to the first floor, and mostly the kitchen. There was smoke and water damage. Stoughton and West Bridgewater firefighters covered Easton’s Station 1 during the incident.

Afternoon Fire Hits 4-Unit Condo In Stoughton

Stoughton, Sharon and Canton firefighters responded. There were no injuries, but an estimated $50,000 in damage.

An afternoon fire at a Stoughton condo unit displaced a Stoughton family on Saturday. The fire at the four-unit building at 12 Patricia Drive caused no injuries but there was an estimated $50,000 in damage, Stoughton Fire Capt. Don Jasmin said. Patricia Drive is located in the Knollsbrook Condominiums neighborhood near Cobbs Corner.  Stoughton, Sharon and Canton firefighters responded to the fire, which was reported around 3 p.m. The fire began on the first floor, Jasmin said. Some smoke and an extension of the fire rose to the second story. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but does not appear suspicious, Jasmin said. The displaced family is staying at a relative’s house, he said. The other three apartments remain occupied.
