Winter Storm Warning, Advisory In Effect for Sharon Area Tuesday

The worst of the weather is expected to hit during the morning commute, according to forecasts.

It will be one messy commute for residents in the Sharon area Tuesday morning.  Anywhere from 2-4 inches will fall in the Sharon area, according to WHDH Weather, with some areas west receiving anywhere from 4-8 inches. Snow is expected to mix with sleet and rain inland by midday. A winter storm warning was put into effect for Western Norfolk County from 2 p.m. Monday p.m. through 11 a.m. Tuesday. Meanwhile, a winter storm advisory was put into effect for Eastern Norfolk County through 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to WHDH. The good news? Tuesday's storm isn't classified as any of the following, according to WHDH Chief Meteorologist Pete Bouchard: a nor'easter, a blockbuster storm (which indicates more than one foot of snow), a coastal flooding…

Sharon Shovels Out of Another Winter Storm

Plows, snow blowers and shoveling on every road and drive.

Another snowstorm for 2013. Sharon Patch caught up with one South Main Street resident, Roman Canes, who said he likes the snow as he shoveled his driveway clear. He had already shoveled more than half his long driveway and was still smiling and not winded at all. Tired of the snow already? Or do you want more of it to finish out the winter? Steady Snow Forecasted to Fall in Sharon Thursday, Friday

Anywhere from 3-5 inches of snow could fall in the area; a Winter Storm Watch is now in effect.

Another winter storm is headed Sharon's way. Unlike the blizzard of 2013, though, this incoming storm is expected to bring only upwards of 3-5 inches of the white stuff. This storm will comprise a mix of wind, rain wet snow, the accumulations of which will take place mostly along and outside I-95 Thursday, according to WHDH.  Moreover, it will take some time to reach the predicted snow accumulation, WHDH Meteorologist Jeremy Reiner wrote in his blog Wednesday: Tomorrow and into early Friday morning will be the brunt of the storm but I have to tell you---it won't behave like a classic winter storm where we get slammed with snow for 6-8 hours then we're done. It will be a slow, drawn out storm where it snows lightly (sometimes steadily) for …

Blizzard Forecast for Sharon This Weekend

We could see more than two feet of snow.

If you've been talking about what a calm winter we've had, you've spoken too soon. Just a couple days after the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of '78, New England is expected to get a blizzard. The Sharon area could see more than 2 feet of snow, the largest snow accumulation since 2010. The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for most of eastern Massachusetts including Sharon, calling it a "potential historic winter storm". Residents can expect the potential of snow falling at 3-to-4 inches per hour and wind gusts of more thsan 20 miles per hour. “I think it's time to prepare for the biggest storm since December 26th and 27th of 2010,” WHDH-TV chief meteorologist Pete Bouchard wrote in his latest blog post. “For the snow…
