Norton Parents Get Special Delivery on 12/12/12 When Erin Fisher went into labor Dec. 12, she expected it to go well into the next day. Newborn Wesley Scott Fisher was determined to make his birthday an extra special day, however, arriving at exactly 12:12 p.m. Dec. 12, 2012. “We are both doing very well and are going home today,” Erin said. She has lived in Norton for the past five years with her husband Scott. Wesley, named after Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, was born at 6 lbs., 8 oz. at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. Norfolk County DA Rules Stoughton Teen's Shooting Death Accidental The September 29th shooting which killed Stoughton High senior David Wade, long understood to be an accident, has officially been ruled as such, the office of Norfolk Country District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey announced in a press release Friday afternoon. Wade, 17, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest at his Turnpike St. home. He was accidentally shot by his 21-year-old brother. The jaws of life were used to free one person involved
Sharon emergency officials had to use the jaws of life Saturday morning to free a motorist who stuck a tree on South Main Street. Sharon Fire Captain Bert Cummings said one person was involved in the accident and was transported by ambulance to Norwood Hospital. Cummings said the condition of the victim is unavailable at this time. Sharon Police Sgt. Stephen Coffey said the vehicle struck a tree while heading northbound near Ames Street at approximately 11:18 a.m. The male passenger was driving a pick-up truck and the cab of the truck buckled against the tree, Coffey said. As a result the jaws of life needed to be used. Coffey said the accident is under investigation by the Sharon Police Department.

State Police Make Several OUI Arrests Over Holiday Weekend Massachusetts State Police Troopers made 20 OUI arrests and issued almost 350 citations on area roadways this holiday weekend - the result of increased patrols on Routes 24 and 195 and a sobriety checkpoint in Canton, according to a press release from the MSP. The State Police deployed increased patrols on Routes 24 and 195 in southeastern Massachusetts, the evenings of Friday, Nov. 23 and Saturday, Nov. 24 as "part of the department’s ongoing efforts to curb impaired, distracted, and aggressive driving on those roads," the MSP stated in a press release. Woman Allegedly Sexually Assaulted at Knifepoint in Attleboro Local and state police are looking for a man they say kidnapped a woman at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her Tuesday afternoon in an Attleboro parking lot on Starkey Avenue. Those participating in the search, unsuccesful as of 6 p.m., included Norton and Attleboro police officers as well as state police K-9 units and a state police helicopter. Stoughton Man Turns to Attempted Murder After Argument Turns Violent A 42-year-old Stoughton man is charged with attempted murder after an argument turned violent early Sunday morning, according to Stoughton Police. Police were called to 16 Bell St. in Stoughton at 12:54 a.m. on Oct. 21 after "several calls [reported] a fight and people yelling/screaming," according to the Stoughton Police log. In addition to attempted murder, Michael Safranek, 42, of 29 Bell St. in Stoughton, is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and single counts of possession of a firearm while intoxicated and possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, according to the log. Sharon ranks 41st in the state in terms of millionaire filers.
According to data compiled by the Boston Business Journal, Sharon ranks 41st in the state out of the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts in terms of the number of millionaire filers. In 2010, there were 60 millionaire filers in Sharon, which is roughly one millionaire filer for every 293 residents in town. The total reported income among Sharon's millionaire filers was about $2.24 million. Statewide, there were more than 10,000 millionaire filers in 2010, with a combined reported income of more than $36 billion, according to the Boston Business Journal. The publication reports Boston and Newton have the highest total number of millionaire filers, while Weston has the most millionaire filers on a per capita basis (one out of every 27 …
