A multi-hazard weather event is in store for Tuesday afternoon and night and into Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Potential hazards include heavy rain, strong winds, high tides, and the possibly of isolated severe thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service has forecast heavy rain, strong winds and the potential of thunderstorms for the Sharon area Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. There is a wind advisory and hazardous weather outlook in place. The worst of the storm is projected to be Tuesday evening and into Wednesday. According to the NWS: The weather settles down after that. Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s on Thursday and the low 70s on Friday. Severe storms are predicted after 3 p.m., with frequent lightning, heavy downpours, large hail and damaging winds, according to the National Weather Service.
UPDATED: 2:30 p.m. The National Weather Service now says storms may roll through Sharon as early as 3 p.m. There may be some localized street flooding during these storms, as heavy downpours are expected. *** While it is a beautiful sunny day at 2 p.m. with blue skies, the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the eastern part of Massachusetts. The National Weather Service said radar is indicating there may be severe, scattered storms between 5 and 8 p.m. These storms are expected to include strong to damaging winds, large hail, heavy downpours and frequent lightning.
