5 Things Nov 16: Adventures at Stone Barn Farm's Owl Prowl

The Senior Center has many offerings today.

1. From 10:30 - 11 a.m. today, there will be a Tot Time Storytime for children three and younger at the Sharon Public Library. We'll share a short picture book, songs and fingerplays.  2. The Sharon Senior Center offers these classes today:  3. There will be Pre-K storytime with a craft for ages 4-5 years old at the Sharon Public Library from 1:30 - 2:15 p.m. This week's theme: Thanksgiving.  4. Tonight it's the Heights Elementary School pizza night for Grades 2 and 3.  5. There is an Owl Prowl at Stone Barn Farm today from 6-8 p.m., sponsored by Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary and the Mass Audubon.

5 Things, Nov 15: 'Music, Movement and Me' at the Library

Also today: There's an Autumn Party at the Senior Center at 10 a.m.

From 10:30-11:15 a.m., there will be a program titled "Music, Movement and Me" at the Sharon Public Library. Dance and sing with local music educator Sara Epstein. Meant for ages 5 and younger. 3. 5 Things Nov 6: Today is Election Day!

1. Election Day: Voters may cast their ballots at the Sharon High School Gymnasium, 180 Pond St. today. The polls are open on election day from 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. 2. Sharon residents can also tune into Sharon Community Radio 1630 AM all day Tuesday for up-to-the-minute Sharon election infomation. The station will be submitting polling place traffic, parking and vote wait times. At Sharon High School polls, please remember that there will be no LEFT turns out of either Pond St parking lot. There is additional parking at the Memorial Beach parking lot on Beach Street and Temples on Pond and Ames Street. 3. Halloween is almost here, have a spooky weekend!

  1. How about a gentle YOGA class at 9 a.m. at the Sharon Senior Center or at 9:15 a.m. there's a cardio fitness class. 2. At 1 p.m., the Senior Center offers an open art studio class for anyone wishing to express their creative talents. 4. Be sure to cheer for the Sharon High School volleyball teams today! From 3:45-5 p.m., the Freshman Volleyball Team will head to Stoughton High School; then at 4-5:15, the Varsity Volleyball will head to Norwood High School; and 5:15-6:30, the Jr. Varisty Volleyball Team takes on Norwood. 5. 5 Things, Oct. 10: Author Theodore Kohan Appears in Sharon

1. On this day in 1886, the tuxedo dinner jacket made its debut at a ball in Tuxedo Park, New York. 2. At 11:30 a.m. the Sharon Senior Center has a trip to Shaw's Supermarket in Cobbs Corner for some grocery shopping.  3. The Sharon Fire Department open house runs from 3-5 p.m. 4. There is a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the Selectmen's Meetig Room, second floor, Town Office Building. 5. An Author presentation from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m. with Theodore Kohan, a Sharon resident, will be held. Kohan is the author of "Those Who Walk in Darkness" and other books. He will give a talk about some of his works. This program is free and open to the public.

The Sharon Middle School Grade 6 open house is at 6 p.m. 4. From 6-7:45 p.m., the Sharon Public Library will host Promoting National Financial Planning Week with The Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts in the Cynthia B. Fox Community Room at the Sharon Public Library. 5. Borderland State Park offers a Mass Senior Pass for those over age 62 years old. The pass allows free parking for the vehicle occupied by the pass holder, whether they are driving or a passenger. Passes are available at all parks that charge a parking fee.
