Sharon Residential Tax Rates Vs. Its Neighbors: First Place

How much does it cost to live in Sharon?

Sharon stacks up pretty high against some of its neighbors in terms of commercial industrial tax rates, at least in some areas, according to the Boston Business Journal's database. Sharon has the highest residential tax rate (also with a flat split) in Massachusetts at $20.11 per $1,000, according to the BBJ. Increases from other towns for the 2013 fiscal year haven't yet been announced entirely. Chilmark on Martha’s Vineyard has the lowest residential property tax rate in the state at $2.08 flat rate between commercial/industrial.  Everett had the highest commercial/industrial tax rate at$ 41.66 per $1,000, and Chilmark also had the lowest rate in commercial/industrial at $2.08 per $1,000. russiand The residential tax rate is outrageous and will drive people out of this town. Please allow some businesses to be built and offeset the crazy tax rates. This level of taxation is not sustainable. Sharon does not offer enough services to justify such high tax rates to the residents, even if the schools are so great.   more ›
