Sharon Obituary: Joanne M. Collins

Ms. Collins was a graduate of Sharon High School.

Joanne M. Jody Collins, age 55 years, passed away after a brief illness Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born in Boston, Sept. 7, 1957, she graduated from Sharon High School with the Class of 1975. She had been a lifelong resident of Sharon. She worked at the Foxboro Company in Foxboro for 15 years. She was the devoted daughter of John M. Collins of Sharon and the late Dorothy D. (Creamer) Collins; loving sister of John M. Collins Jr. of North Attleboro, Alan J. Collins of Norton, and Craig S. Collins of Sharon; cherished aunt of Rachel, John, Ryan, Lisa, Christine, Kerri, and Michael; and great-aunt of several. Anita Dawson Claeboe, 90, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, formerly of Sharon, MA, died March 21, 2013, after a long illness. She was Number One National Tennis Champion 2013, womens division, 90 and over, and a retired teacher, Sharon (MA) public schools. Preston Brown Dies at 94; Former Sharon Resident, WWII Vet

Mr. Brown served 23 years in the United States Air Force.

Preston Brown our dear beloved Father, Preston Brown, passed away peacefully on Friday March 22, 2013, at the VA. Hospital in Bay Pines Florida. Dad was the last remaining child of the Wilbur Herrick Brown, and Florence Goulding Brown family. Preceeding his departure, were his siblings: Kenneth H. Brown, Phyllis Brookfield, Gordon Brown, Carolyn Berchtold, Barbara H. MacLeod. Born in Sharon Mass, on Sept. 22, 1918, he lived 94.5 years to-the-day. Growing up in New England he had a remarkable life, as part of the Greatest Generation of our country. Enduring the Great Depression, and World War II did his part and had to grow up fast. Ms. Mason was a resident of Sharon for the past 38 years.

Mary Ellen (McGrath) Mason age 70 years died in her Sharon, Massachusetts home on Thursday, March 21, 2013. Born in Northhampton, Massachusetts on January 30, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William and Ellen (Connery) McGrath. She graduated from the Howard School for Girls in East Bridgewater with the class of 1961 and went on to graduate from Boston State College with the class of 1968. She has been a resident of Sharon for the past 38 years, moving there from Canton and Hyde Park. Mrs. Mason was an elementary school teacher and a school librarian in the Boston Public Schools. Mr. Badejo was a class of 2008 Sharon High School graduate.

Edward F. Badejo age 23 of Sharon passed away suddenly March 21st at the Norwood Hospital. Born in Brockton, he was raised in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School class of 2008 and was currently a student at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary College in Cambridge. He loved all sports and played Pop Warner Football and basketball while growing up and for Sharon High School. He loved listening to all music. Beloved son of Stacey and Edward Badejo of Sharon. Gloria E. (Whitestone) Nicoll, of Long Beach, CA, formerly of Sharon and Brookline. Beloved wife of Sidney L. Nicoll. Devoted mother of Steven Nicoll of New York City and Rachel Nicoll of Needham. Dear sister of Allen Whitestone of Newton. Mrs. Nicoll was a graduate of Boston University and Hebrew College. The Nicoll family was one of the founding families of the Young Israel of Sharon. Sharon Obituary: Sidney O. Barnsley

Mr. Barnsley was a lay reader and Sunday School Superintendent at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Sharon.

Sidney O. Barnsley, formerly of Canton, MA passed away on March 6, 2013 in Meredith, NH. He was born in Boston, MA on October 8, 1923. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as B-17 pilot and saw duty in England. He married Carla Bergren on June 25, 1944.They were posted to Roswell, NM for the remainder of his tour. While in New Mexico, two of their children were born. They returned to Canton, MA where they lived until 1985. Sidney was employed as a printer until 1967 when he changed careers and became a graphic arts teacher at the Blue Hills Regional Technical High School. During their years in Canton, he was active in Trinity Episcopal Church, Canton and St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sharon as a lay reader and Sunday School …

Sharon Obituary: Georgia Aileen Austin

Ms. Austin was a resident of Sharon.

Georgia Aileen Austin passed into eternity March 1, 2013 aged 98 years and 8 months, at her home in Sharon, MA after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Nathaniel Sands Austin of North Weymouth, a veteran of the USMC who served his country with honor at Battle of Iwo Jima during WWII. Georgia lived on Fort Point in North Weymouth for 62 years before moving to Sharon five years ago. She was a seamstress all her life and worked at Remick’s department store in Quincy for 37 years. After “retiring” she went to work for Dan Cellucci at the Bridge Street Tailors in North Weymouth until she was 93 years of age.
