The Tigers improved to 8-0 with the narrow victory after a close win over the Eagles.
Heading into Friday night's game against Sharon at the Nixon Gymnasium, the undefeated Oliver Ames girls' basketball hadn't seen many tight games. Case in point: The Tigers were coming off an eye-popping 75-20 win at Milford on Tuesday. Friday, however, proved to be a much different story. After playing from behind for much of the game, OA squeaked past the Eagles, 45-43 to take an important Davenport Division win. OA improved to 8-0 on the year while Sharon dropped to 3-3. Sharon coach Kate Horsmann was proud her team put up a strong fight against the undefeated Tigers, but disappointed the Eagles couldn't get it done done the stretch. Over the years, the two rivals have found themselves in close games during their two meetings in the season. The following is an update of the action of the Sharon High athletic department.
While one of the fall sports teams is still playing, the winter teams started practice Monday for the upcoming season. FOOTBALL-The Eagles will be playing their first playoff game in the history of the program tonight at Braintree High against Pembroke in a 5:15 p.m. game. The winner will be advancing to the Super Bowl Saturday. BOYS BASKETBALL-The Eagles will have a scrimmage Braintree High, Friday at home and at Braintree. The JV team will be at Braintree from 3:30-5:30 p.m., while the varsity team will be at home from 4-6 p.m. GIRLS BASKETBALL-Tuesday, Dec. 4, the Eagles will be at Framingham.
