Sharon Patch Scoreboard: Boys' Basketball Team to Face North Quincy Saturday

The Sharon High boys' basketball team is going to play Quincy Saturday at home at 5 p.m. in the Division 2 South tournament quarterfinals in a match-up of 12th and 13th seeded teams.

  The Sharon High boys' basketball team is going to play Quincy Saturday at home at 5 p.m. in the Division 2 South tournament quarterfinals in a match-up of 12th and 13th seeded teams. The Eagles (14-7) were seeded 12th and knocked out Silver Lake, 78-71, while Quincy (13-8, 13th seed) beat Randolph, 53-42. The winner of Saturday's game will face Hingham or Scituate in the semifinals. Check out the pairings at the MIAA site. The Sharon girls' basketball team was knocked out the postseason by Fontbonne Academy, dropping a 61-36 decision in the first round of the Division 2 South tournament. Sharon High Basketball Teams Earn 12th Seeds

Sharon High basketball teams will be hitting the road in the state tournament.

  Both the Sharon High boys' and girls' basketball teams know who they will be playing in the state basketball tournaments. The pairings were announced Friday at the MIAA headquarters in Franklin. The Sharon boys' team is the No. 12 seed and will be traveling to No. 6 Silver Lake, Thursday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. The girls are also 12th seed and they will be playing Fontbonne Academy at Quincy High School, Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m.

Sharon High Boys' Basketball Lets Lead Slip Away at Stoughton

Sharon had a 54-46 lead with 5:15 to play, but Stoughton came away with a 58-55 win, ending the game on a 12-1 run.

When Sharon's Brian Mukasa hit a two-pointer to give the Eagles a 54-46 lead with 5:15 left to play in the fourth quarter, it looked as if the Sharon High boys' basketball team was going to pull away from Stoughton down the stretch. But, Mukasa's two-pointer turned out to be the final basket of the night for Sharon, with the Eagles scoring just one more point the rest of the game, on a free throw from Brian Lawrence with 45.4 seconds left. With the door left open for Stoughton to climb back into the game, the Black Knights took advantage and came away with a 58-55 win Friday in Stoughton. Stoughton is now 6-6 on the season and has swept the season series with Sharon. The Eagles, meanwhile, fall to 7-6. After an 0-3 start, Sharon ran off …
