1. Today is the Sharon Senior Center sold out trip to the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston. Visit the website to register for upcoming events. 2. At 9 a.m., the Men's Club has a meeting at the Sharon Senior Center. 3. There will be a School Council meeting in the Sharon High School library from 3:30-5 p.m. 4. A special presentation at Sharon Middle School with CNN Hero Razia Jan who will speak from 7-8 p.m. This event is open to the entire Sharon Community. Jan is the founder of the Zabuli Education Center, a girl's school in Afghanistan. There is a planned communication program in place between the Shaon 7th Graders and the Afghan girls. 5. 1. The Sharon Council on the Aging and Sharon Public Schools will be closed today in celebration of Columbus Day. 2. The Fall Festival over at the Blue Hills Trailside Museum continues today with a celebration of fall. Live animal presentations, crafts, learn how to make apple cider and a yard sale to benefit the museum. Admission: $2 for member and $4 for non-member. 3. It's still not to late to go apple picking. Tennis-Quick Start Program registration for ages 5 and 6, sponsored by the Sharon Department of Recreation. Begins on Saturday, Sept. 29 and runs through Oct. 27.
