Register of deeds addresses Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging Over 60 Men's Club.
Homeowners should file to protect their primary residence from being taken away to pay off debts as part of a forced sale, Norfolk County Register of Deeds William O'Donnell said today. O'Donnell told Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging's Over 60 Men's Club members that filing under the Massachusetts Homestead Act is the main message they should remember from his talk. "When your house is an asset, people are going to look at that," O'Donnell said at the Sharon Community Center. O'Donnell included details about the Homestead Act, including a filing form, in an information packet for guests today. The packet highlighted some of the services offered at the registry, in Dedham. Two of O'Donnell's staff members then answered guests' …

Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging's Over 60 Men's Club hears about the USS Constitution.
A number of hands -- many belonging to veterans -- raised this morning in the Sharon Community Center. The USS Constitution, also known as "Old Ironsides," had welcomed these people aboard as visitors over the years. Modern visitors are "standing within the envelope of the only ship left that began the United States Navy," she said. The War of 1812 celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2012, she said. Desy told the Sharon men's club about the ship's history and …

Water management advisory committee member addresses Sharon club Tuesday.
The audience during a water conservation slide presentation Tuesday saw, coincidentally, Lake Massapoag in front of it. "How many people drive by the lake every day coming home from work, the sun's coming down?" Water Management Advisory Committee member Paul Lauenstein asked. "It's just a beautiful thing." Lauenstein discussed Sharon's water resources with the Sharon Adult Center and Council on Aging's Over 60 Men's Club at the Sharon Community Center. He noted that Sharon's motto is "A Beautiful Place To Live Because It's Naturally Beautiful." "It won't be naturally beautiful if we don't have any water," Lauenstein said. About 36 percent of Sharon is undeveloped, primarily in Borderland State Park and the Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary, …
