PHOTOS: Patriots Beat Texans to Advance to AFC Championship Game

The New England Patriots will host the Baltimore Ravens for the second consecutive season in the AFC Championship game next Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Winner advances to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.

On Saturday the galaxy aligned for the AFC Championship game to return to Foxborough for a second straight season after the Baltimore Ravens upset the Denver Broncos, 38-35 in double overtime of the AFC Divisional Round. All that stood between the Patriots and a return to the AFC Championship game was a Lone Star - the Houston Texans. On Sunday, that star burned out in Foxborough as the Patriots rolled past Houston, 41-28. Now, for the fifth time in team history, the AFC Championship game will be played in Foxborough. The Patriots are 4-0 all-time in AFC title games at home and 7-1 overall. "It’s good to be able to play in the AFC Championship Game next week," said Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. "I’m really proud of our players; I …

Foxborough Man Surprises Son with Patriots Tickets He Won Giving Blood

Foxborough resident Paul Currie was one of five blood donors to win Patriots playoff tickets after participating in Dunkin' Donuts sixth annual "Give a Pint, Get a Pound" campaign last week at Patriot Place.

Foxborough resident Paul Currie realized the importance of giving blood several years ago when his daughter had a major surgery. “I realized giving blood is something we all need to do,” Currie said. "[It is] easy and the benefits for others are priceless.” Currie, 52, was off from work last week when he heard about an American Red Cross blood drive happening at Patriot Place. “I decided I would do my part,” Currie said of participating in last Thursday’s Dunkin’ Donuts sixth annual “Give a Pint, Give a Pound” campaign. As part of the event at Patriot Place, five lucky donors would win two tickets apiece to Sunday’s AFC Divisional Round playoff game between the New England Patriots and Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium. Currie was one of …

Belichick, Patriots ‘Full Speed Ahead’ on Prepping for Rematch with Houston

The New England Patriots will host the Houston Texans in next Sunday's AFC divisional round at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. Kick-off is 4:30 p.m.

One day after learning the Houston Texans will be making a return trip to Foxborough for next Sunday's AFC divisional round game, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said the team is well into its preparation for its first opponent of the postseason. "We’re full speed ahead here on Houston," Belichick told reporters in a conference call Sunday. "It really gives us a little bit of a jump on the situation so we can spend [Sunday] and really every day now going forward totally focusing our attention on them. Obviously they had a terrific year and a big win [Saturday] against Cincinnati." The Texans beat Cincinnati, 19-13 in Houston Saturday to advance to the Jan. 13 game at Gillette Stadium (kick-off 4:30 p.m.). It will be the …

This poem was given me by my Granddaughter, Erica V. Vohnoutka. Some team names are outdated but the prayer is fit. "Our Brady who art in Foxboro, Hallowed be thy arm. Thy bowl will come, it will be won in Dallas as in N.E. Give us this Sun.our weekly win, and give us many touchdown passes, but do not let the Jets pass against us. Lead us not into frustration, but deliver us to the Valley of the …   more ›
