(VIDEO) Sharon Students Talk to Astronauts

Mission X officially ended today.

Today, a Sharon fifth-grader asked an astronaut, "Is it hard to simulate a space environment here on earth?" During a special webcast aired in the Heights Elementary School gymnasium. "Actually, we've done a pretty good job in some of our training simulators," astronaut Dorothy Metcalf-Lindenburger replied. The event ended Mission X: Train Like An Astronaut, a six-week, international fitness and nutrition challenge. Heights students started on Feb. 3. The Cottage Street School and East Elementary School joined on March 2. Sharon Elementary Students Spell Fitness N-A-S-A

Thanks to physical education teacher Tim Vigorito, Sharon is part of Mission X, a six-week physical fitness challenge spanning the globe.

Astronauts would recognize some of the agility drills and nutrition lessons Sharon's third, fourth and fifth-graders have done for the past month. And on March 30, Heights Elementary School will watch a live Webcast from NASA. All because Heights physical education teacher and Sharon Public Schools health and wellness facilitator Tim Vigorito looked to the stars at age 2, and has never stopped looking at the sky. Sharon's three elementary schools are part of Team USA in Mission X: Train Like An Astronaut, a six-week, international fitness and nutrition challenge. Three school districts are on Team USA. Heights students started on Feb. 3. Cottage and East joined last Friday, March 2. And from June 5 to June 8, Vigorito will represent NASA …
