Sharon Parents to Hear About Raising 'Responsible' Kids

The Sharon Education Foundation and the Everwood Day Camp are sponsoring Wednesday night's talk.

Dr. Michael Thompson defines a "responsible child" as one who "has enough of an emotional foundation that he or she can meet the many moral demands of family and group life: rules, traditions, and expectations." "Of course, no child is ever perfectly responsible, but for the most part, a responsible child can meet the vast majority of developmentally appropriate expectations, has some personal discipline, and can distinguish right from wrong," says Thompson, a consultant, author and psychologist. Thompson will discuss "How to Raise Responsible Children" from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Everwood Lodge at the Everwood Day Camp.
