James Timilty beats Jeff Bailey in State Senate race.
Incumbent James Timilty (D-Walpole) has taken the Massachusetts Senate Bristol & Norfolk District seat. Unofficially, Timilty took the seat with nearly double the votes for opponent Jeff Bailey. "I'm very lucky to be in the position that I am," said Timilty. "Privileged and honored to represent the Bristol and Norfolk and, of course, being a guy from Walpole, representing the town of Walpole, it can't be any better than that. "We're very happy. Obviously, you spend a lot of time working for the communities that you represent on the issues that matter to them. State Sen. James Timilty and challenger Jeff Bailey had their differences, but they kept the discussion civil Thursday night during an election debate at Attleboro High School. A range of topics were featured during the 50-minute session hosted by The Sun Chronicle and the United Regional Chamber of Commerce, including jobs, state spending and government transparency. Jeff Bailey says the theme of his campaign for state senator will be "jobs, jobs, jobs," but not ones in the casino industry. Bailey, an Attleboro pastor, is running as a Republican against incumbent James Timilty (D-Walpole) for the Senate seat. Attleboro Republican Jeff Bailey will kick off his campaign for the Bristol and Norfolk District State Senate seat from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 29 at the Lafayette House, on Route 1 in Foxborough, his campaign announced Thursday.
