Israel's State in 2012 Presidential Election

The case for voting for President on the issue of Israel is examined.

One nation with a particular interest in the outcome of next week’s Presidential election is the State of Israel. Would Israel Attacking Iran Break International Law?

The question is being discussed worldwide.

Would an attack by Israel against Iranian nuclear facilities violate international law? The question is being hotly debated here in Sharon, and around the world. Yale law professor Bruce Ackerman believes that such an attack would violate Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which the U.S. ratified in the aftermath of World War II. Article 51 allows states to use military force only to respond to "armed attack." To support his position, Ackerman points out that in 1981, the U.S. supported a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israel's preemptive assault on an Iraqi nuclear facility.
