PHOTO: The Blizzard of 2013 Leaves Mounds of Snow

The piles at the Cobbs Corner parking lots were enormous.

The aftermath of the Blizzard of 2013 left the nearby Cobbs Corner parking lots with massive amounts of snow. These trucks were loading up and moving the snow elsewhere to make room for vehicles to park.

Blizzard Snapshot: Sharon Schools After the Storm

Check out recent photos of three schools in Sharon covered in snow from this weekend's blizzard.

Like several communities around the area, Sharon Public Schools cancelled classes for Monday, Feb. 11 as a result of the Blizzard of 2013 that struck over the weekend.  School officials, meanwhile, posted several photos on the SPS website to give a view of how some of the schools were after the storm.  The photos of the , Sharon Middle School and East Elementary show impressive amounts of snow in the area.

A little cardinal rests on a branch during the weekend blizzard.

The enormous winds and continuous downpour of snow bore down on birds in the Sharon area.  Sharon Patch came across this little red cardinal high up in a tree near two bird feeders.

Ice Skaters Take to Pecunit Street Pond

Lights lit up the pond for the skaters on Tuesday evening this week.

With the fluctuating temperatures, the ponds in the Sharon and Canton area have gone from frozen to slush pretty quickly. The pond on Pecunit Street in nearby Canton, however, was solid enough to allow for a small pick-up hockey game on Tuesday night.

Sharon Snapshot: A Mix of Water, Ice at Local Stream

A daily look at various scenes and happenings in Sharon.

It's been a cold winter thus far in Sharon and throughout most of the Northeast. While there's been little warmth, the temperatures did rise enough recently in Sharon to thaw a bit of a frozen stream on Canton Street. The stream, which lies across the street from Temple Sinai, can be seen as a mix of solid ice and running water.

Their website is www.getinshapeforwomen.com Patch asked manager, Lisa Smith, what the most important component is for staying in shape. "I would have to say accountibility. We make sure that you follow the nutrition guidelines, show up for your work outs and push with intensity," said Smth. What's your work out routine? And how often do you get to the gym? Snapshot: What is the Most Popular Baked Good at French Memories?

Folks at the local coffee shop weighed in this week as to what the top seller was for baked goods.

French Memories located at 3 Post Office Square in Sharon, has always been a hot spot for residents to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee, a baked snack and free Wi Fi. Sharon Patch stopped in to ask the folks at the local shop what the top selling baked good is. The answer? "The almond croissant," said Tess Odier, the owner's daughter.
