The following is a summary of police activity and incidents reported from Sunday’s NFL regular season game between the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers at Gillette Stadium, as reported in Foxborough's police logs.

Sunday night’s New England Patriots football game at Gillette Stadium drew a crowd of 65,043; slightly less than the 65,435 at Gillette Stadium six days earlier to see the Pats take on the Houston Texans. Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary said there were 54 people taken into protective custody Sunday night and eight people arrested. In addition to the 62 custodies reported, a caller at 6:31 p.m. told Foxborough Police a North Street resident was violating the town’s parking bylaw. Foxborough Police took a proactive approach in crowd control during last weekend’s New England Country Music Festival at Gillette Stadium, resulting in over 100 arrests in two days. Do you agree with the strategy?
Some have criticized Foxborough Police for being “overzealous” during events at Gillette Stadium but that doesn’t concern Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary. What does concern O’Leary, who has 26 years of experience leading the Foxborough Police Department, is underage drinking and the public's safety during events at Gillette Stadium, which, of course, lies just down the road from Sharon. “I always have been an activist when it comes to underage drinking,” said O’Leary. “[No one was] unfairly treated [at the concerts] because they were underage and around alcohol.” O’Leary said Foxborough Police spent three months with Massachusetts State Police and Gillette Stadium security preparing for this year’s New England Country Music Festival…

Foxborough Police cited him for traffic violations.
The Foxborough teen driving the red Honda Accord that hit another vehicle head-on at Route 140 Monday has been cited for "various traffic violations," according to Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary. Adam Chochrek, 17, of Foxborough was cited for traffic violations following his role in Monday’s head-on collision that injured himself, two of his passengers and the driver of the vehicle he struck at the intersection of Main and Pierce streets, Foxborough Police said. O'Leary did not provide details to the violations. "Mr. Chochrek was cited various traffic violations," O'Leary said.
