Here are the highlights of the Sharon Fire log.

Saturday night's fire at Bass Pro Shops in Foxborough was the bigger of two fires reported to the Sharon Fire Department last week. At 6:18 p.m. Thursday, July 5, firefighters responded to 2601 Bay Road for a reported cooking fire confined to the container, according to the Sharon Fire log. Firefighters restored the fire alarm system. Here are the other highlights of the Sharon Fire log for July 1 to July 7, courtesy of the Sharon Fire Department: On Sunday, July 1 at 11:04 a.m., firefighters responded to Moose Hill Parkway for a reported vehicle accident with injuries, and transported one person to the hospital. Discarded Cigarette Likely Cause of Saturday’s Fire at Bass Pro Shops

Saturday’s two-alarm fire at Bass Pro Shops in Patriot Place appears caused by a discarded cigarette butt in the rear exterior of the building, Foxborough Fire Chief Roger Hatfield says. “We are speculating that it was a discarded cigarette into the bark mulch and the bark mulch caught fire, which in turn caught the side of the building on fire,” Hatfield said. “We didn’t find any evidence or any cigarette butts through the debris and stuff, but that’s what we are leaning towards. There’s no clear evidence of the cigarette butt itself.” The Foxborough Fire Department received a call from Patriot Place personnel at 8:42 p.m. about visible smoke in the rear of the building.
