Sharon School Safety Report Highlights Current Protocols, Recommendations

The report was recently presented at the Sharon School Committee's meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

A report by Sharon Public Schools Superintendent Timothy J. Farmer on the district's safety procedures is now available for parents and families to view online.  The report, which can also be viewed as an attachment to this article, highlights a three-pronged approach for addressing emergency lockdown situations.  "A singular strategy is unlikely to address all variables," the report states.  But also highlighted in the report are details on what already exists for safety procedures at all of Sharon's schools, as well as suggestions for future considerations. Sharon School Official Takes Part in Shooter Response Training, More Regional News

Sharon Schools Operations Director Attends Shooter Response Training One of Sharon's own school officials recently attended a two-day training on how to save lives in the event of a school shooting. The event, hosted by Norfolk DA Michael Morrissey last week, involved the presentation of the ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) program.
