Sharon Firefighters Handle House Fire, Stuck Elevator

Here are the highlights of the Sharon Fire log.

A house fire, and a person stuck in an elevator, top the latest Sharon Fire log. The fire happened at 4:54 p.m. Friday, at 2 Lyndon Road. No one was injured, although a cat died, Fire Chief James Wright said. And on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 9:01 a.m., firefighters helped someone stuck in a stalled elevator at 181 Pond St., Sharon High School. Here are the other highlights of the Sharon Fire log for Sept. 25 to Oct. 1, courtesy of the Sharon Fire Department: On Sunday, Sept. 25 at 9:28 a.m., EMS responded to 95 Mountain St., and provided first aid and checked for injuries. At 12:43 p.m., EMS responded to 51 Hixson Farm Road Unit 262, and provided basic life support. At 3:33 p.m., EMS responded to 6 Eagle Drive, and provided advanced life …

Fire Strikes Sharon Home

A cat perished in the fire, at 2 Lyndon Road.

A fire at a Sharon home resulted in the death of a cat on Friday. Nobody was home when a passerby reported the fire at 2 Lyndon Road at 4:52 p.m., Fire Chief James Wright said. No injuries were reported, Wright said. The fire has been deemed accidental, and apparently started in a back bedroom in the single-family home, the fire chief said. Investigators have narrowed the cause to an electrical malfunction, Wright said. The state fire marshal's office responded to the scene, he said. Canton and Stoughton firefighters joined Sharon firefighters at the incident, and knocked down the fire within 10 to 15 minutes, Wright said. Foxborough firefighters covered the Sharon fire station.
