A graveside service will be held for Marvin Kaplan Sunday.
Marvin Kaplan of Sharon died on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Katz), the loving father of Stephanie Vining and her husband Michael of Mattapoisett and Allyson Crowell and her husband Todd of Mansfield. He was the cherished grandfather of Danielle, dear brother of Alan Kaplan and his wife Kim of CA., uncle of Alyssa and Kaitlyn. The graveside services will be at the Vilno Cemetery, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury on Sunday, May 19 at 2 p.m., Memorial observance at the home of Allyson and Todd Crowell following the burial on Sunday continuing through Monday. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Sharon-Stoughton Hadassah, c/o Iris Sherman, 15 Tracy Lane, Sharon, MA 02067.

Joanne M. Jody Collins, age 55 years, passed away after a brief illness Sunday, May 5, 2013. Born in Boston, Sept. 7, 1957, she graduated from Sharon High School with the Class of 1975. She had been a lifelong resident of Sharon. She worked at the Foxboro Company in Foxboro for 15 years. She was the devoted daughter of John M. Collins of Sharon and the late Dorothy D. (Creamer) Collins; loving sister of John M. Collins Jr. of North Attleboro, Alan J. Collins of Norton, and Craig S. Collins of Sharon; cherished aunt of Rachel, John, Ryan, Lisa, Christine, Kerri, and Michael; and great-aunt of several. Julius "Jim" Mover of Brockton, formerly of Stoughton and Sharon, died Thursday, May 2, 2013. Mr. Mover was a very accomplished musican, performing with the likes of Benny Goodman, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett during a long, successful career as a trumpet player. He was the beloved husband of Dolores Mover, the loving father of Richard, Joy and Robert, cherished grandfather of Emilie and Anya, dear brother of Lester Mover. Graveside services will be at the Mass National Cemetery, Bourne, on Monday, May 6 at 2:15 p.m.. Dr. Sherry E. Gelbwasser, 45, of Feeding Hills, MA, died Friday, April 26, after an illness. Born in Holden and raised in Rutland, MA, she was a 1986 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School and went on to earn a B.S. in early childhood education (magna cum laude) at North Adams State College, an MLS at SUNY Albany, and an Ed.D. in educational leadership at Johnson & Wales University. She joined the Learning Resource Center (LRC) at Asnuntuck Community College in Enfield, CT, in 1994 as information services librarian and has served as librarian since 2002. Bob Sondheim, the retired athletic director for the Sharon Public Schools entered into rest April 8, 2013 at the age of 63. He was the beloved husband of the late Celina (Kelley) Sondheim, devoted father of Andrew Sondheim and his wife, Krystle, of Sharon and Carrie Sondheim of Sharon. Loving brother of Arthur Sondheim III and his wife Monique of ME. Cherished uncle of Elizabeth Levesque and Arthur Sondheim IV and loving companion of Carol Abram of Sharon. (From Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton) Helen I. (Gachewicz) Statham, 95, of Sharon died April 1, peacefully at her home at age 95. She was the beloved wife of the late William E. Statham. Born in Philadelphia PA, she was raised and educated in Canton, attending St. John's School graduating the Class of 1935. After high school she was employed at Plymouth Rubber in Canton where she met her husband, they married in 1935, where they made their home in Sharon ever since. Preston Brown our dear beloved Father, Preston Brown, passed away peacefully on Friday March 22, 2013, at the VA. Hospital in Bay Pines Florida. Dad was the last remaining child of the Wilbur Herrick Brown, and Florence Goulding Brown family. Preceeding his departure, were his siblings: Kenneth H. Brown, Phyllis Brookfield, Gordon Brown, Carolyn Berchtold, Barbara H. MacLeod. Born in Sharon Mass, on Sept. 22, 1918, he lived 94.5 years to-the-day. Growing up in New England he had a remarkable life, as part of the Greatest Generation of our country. Enduring the Great Depression, and World War II did his part and had to grow up fast.
