The Sharon Housing Authority, located a short distance from Cobbs Corner, has provided low-income housing for the elderly and handicap, for more than 35 years. Eighty-eight-one bedroom apartments are available at the Hixson Farm Road complex.

Individuals or families may apply to the Housing Authority. Once approved, the applicant is placed on a waiting list. To be eligible, the applicant must be at least 60-years old or meet the eligibility requirements as a handicapped person. The annual net income of a single person must not be greater than $46,300 or $52,950 for a couple.
