Ames Free Library carries a large selection of fiction, nonfiction and academic titles. The library additionally hosts various community and cultural events, such as Knitters Group, the Summer Reading Program, Movie Night, the Author Series, Trees of Easton Tour with Ed Hands and much more. The library opened in 1883 and was designed by noted architect Henry Hobson Richardson.
