West Nile Detected in Mosquitoes in Sharon

Sharon resident, don’t forget to be mindful of mosquitoes! West Nile Virus was detected in mosquitoes in Sharon and the Board of Health wants residents to be aware of how to reduce the risks.

Mosquitoes are most prevalent from dusk to dawn, so make sure you try to wear longer clothes if it’s not too hot, and use bugspray with deet, although it shouldn’t be used on infants under two-months-old.

To keep mosquitoes out of your house, make sure to drain any standing water, where they breed, and make sure you have screens in all your windows. If your screens are broken, fix them.
