Get to Celebrate Fourth of July Sharon Style

Sharon will kick off the Fourth of July Celebration with Sunday's Sharon 5 Road Race.

Not too many place celebrate the Fourth of July like Sharon does.

The 2013 Sharon Independence Day will kick off with the 48th running of the Sharon Five Road Race, Sunday, June 30. at  9 a.m. Registration is under way for the event .

Tuesday, July 3:

There will be the Bicycle and Doll Carriage Parade. Lineup will be at 3:45 p.m. at Beach Tree Park. The parade will start at 4 p.m.

From 4:30-9:30 p.m., there will be the lakeside celebration.  The fireworks will be at 9:30 p.m.

New this year is the food trucks being there. It will feature some of the finest food trucks in the Boston area. There will be carnival games, train rides on the Roaming Railroad, a climbing wall, a hands on animal exhibits from Sharon's Sunnyrock 4-H club and entertainment, featuring Sharon's own Dred Sox. 

There will be a pie-eating contest, featuring $50 first place and you must be 18 years or older to participate. You can sign up at the main gate with a Sharon Independence Day Committee.
