Strong 2nd Half Leads Eagles Over Canton by 20

With their first two games coming down to a touchdown or less, it should be no surprise that halfway though the Sharon Eagles' game with the Canton Bulldogs that Sharon was only up by one.

Unlike their earlier games however, the Eagles were able to score 19 unanswered pointed as part of a 32-12 Homecoming Day victory over Canton.

Sharon starts divisional play at 1-0 and is 1-2 overall.

Less than two minutes into the game, the Eagles got on the board with a 32-yard Bryce Smith reception that gave Sharon a 6-0 lead with 9:19  left in the opening quarter. The extra point was no good.

The touchdown reception was the first of two for the sophomore. Smith caught a second pass from David Roelke in the back of the end zone in the second half to make it 26-12 game.

The Bulldogs would get to within one point at halftime, scoring on a 3-yard QB keeper by Brian Hagan in the first half and returning an 85-yard interception with seconds remaining in the second quarter. 

With the score 13-12 going into the third quarter, Frank Sullivan's 57-yard rush for a touchdown put the Eagles up by eight with 8:19 left in the third quarter.

A final Sharon score came with two minutes left in the game when Kevin Jones was able to punch it in from two yards out.

The Eagles will travel to Foxboro on Oct. 4.
