Sharon Girls' Basketball Makes ESPN Boston Top 25

When ESPN Boston released their first girls' basketball top 25 poll of the season on Wednesday, the rankings featured a team that may be unfamiliar to those who follow the sport.

Sharon High School made their debut in the season's first poll at number 18, three spots above fellow Hockomock League school North Attleboro.

Staff writers for the site said that the Eagles are the favorite to win the Davenport Division behind seniors Karlie O'Driscoll, Lily Arbarbanel and Andrea Bender.

Whether they can make their way through the competitive D2 South tournament is another question.

The team is also currently number one on the Hockomock Sports Hock 5 rankings for girls' basketball.

The Eagles' 2013-14 campaign kicks off tonight against Stoughton at Sharon High School at 6:30 p.m.
