Sharon Gymnasts on top at the Hockomock League Gymnastics Championships

What an amazing night for the Varsity gymnastics team! Under the positive coaching of Dyann Zenga the girls gave a near flawless performance which concluded in their season high total of 139.25, placing them 2nd to Mansfield's 140.85. A very close meet and even though they did not win the team event, the girls out shined their competitors individually earning several top titles.  Sharon's Natalie Maidment won the title of the Hockomock League All Around Champion with a season high score of 36.85. She was first on Beam (9.3) & 2nd on the other 3 events earning the following high scores: Vault (9.35), Bars (9.2), and Floor (9.0).  In the individual event competition Rachel Greene earned the first place title on Beam (9.0) and Bars (8.8). Other strong finishes were: Chelsie Noller - 2nd Floor, Marielle Fisher - 2nd Bars, 3rd Beam, & 5th Vault, Dagney Winner - 2nd Beam & 6th Bars, and Tara Garani - 6th Floor. Upcoming meets the girls have a good chance to qualify for are: the High School State Individuals on 2/15 held at Algonquin Regional High School, and the South Sectional Championship on 2/22 at Hudson High School. There was a wonderful showing of Eagle Pride support at this meet and it would be great to see that continue in the next few meets! GO EAGLES!
