On September 18, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts held its third annual company-wide Service Day, One Community. One Blue. More than 3,000 associates, known as BlueCrew, volunteered all together on one day at 39 different community sites across the state to beautify recreational areas, prepare meals, assemble food and clothes items, and enhance educational facilities, among many other activities.
Many Blue Cross volunteers chose to spend their day of service at Camp Wonderland in Sharon, helping to spruce up the camp after the summer season. They painted lodges, put rubber mulch under the ropes activity course, and completed other projects to help beautify the camp.
Several of the volunteers, all from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, were Sharon residents and former campers.
