Several swimmers recorded their best times of the season against visiting King Philip on Thursday night, Eagles head coach Jennifer Iverson said today.
King Philip won both meets, held at Randolph High School: 93-69 for the and 86-79 for the .
Iverson said that in the girls meet, Sharon's 400 free relay team of sophomore Julia Cox, freshman Liza Krause, junior Christine LaHive and senior Tana Bao qualified for the sectionals with a time of 4:18.37.
The Eagles recorded these personal best times, Iverson said: Krause, in the 200 free, 2:12.90; Bao, in the 200 individual medley, 2:22.94, a four-second improvement; junior co-captain Erin Seigel, in the 200 individual medley, 2:54.64; sophomore Mimi Ross, in the 200 individual medley, 2:50.77; and sophomore Alex Arnoff, in the 50 freestyle, 27.37.
Iverson said that in the boys meet, Sharon saw personal bests from: the 200 medley relay team of junior co-captain Nickie Cheung, sophomore Jon Dunlap, freshman Jack Fergenbaum and junior co-captain Will Sweet, 1:50.50, a one-second improvement; Dunlap, in the 200 individual medley, 2:09.65, a two-second improvement; sophomore Coby Mayhew, in the 500 freestyle, 6:42.76, a 17-second improvement; and junior Rahul Polu, in the 100 breast, 1:20.30, a one-second improvement.
The Sharon boys (2-2) and girls (1-2) host Franklin at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
