Sharon saw its home sales increase by 51.72 percent in August, according to data released by real estate information firm The Warren Group,
According to the report, home sales for August increased from 29 homes sold in Aug. 2012 to 44 in Aug. 2013. Year to date sales are also up by 25 percent from 155 in 2012 to 194 in 2013.
The median sale price for the month is up 24.30 percent. In Aug. 2013, the median price was $578,000, up from $465,000 in Aug. 2012.

The year to date median sale price is also up from $415,000 in 2012 to $469,000 this year.
In Massachusetts, 5,925 homes sold in Aug. 2013, a 23.77 percent increase over last August's 5,204 sales.

Overall 33,523 houses have been sold this year compared to 31,851 homes in the same time period last year.
The median sale price in the state went up 10.57 percent from $307,500 in Aug. 2012 to $340,000 in Aug. 2013.
