You Ask....Sharon Patch Answers: Why Isn't Mountain Street Paved?

Parts of Mountain Street should have been paved by now but take a drive down the narrow road and you’ll still see plenty of dirt road.

In this edition of “You Ask, Patch Answers,” we look at why Mountain Street remains unpaved.

At a recent meeting of the Sharon Board of Selectmen, a resident asked why a planned paving of the street has not happened. According to the selectmen, a resident has appealed the application for the paving, preventing any work on the road.

“We have 800 feet that we have applied to the state to blacktop and someone has filed papers against paving of the street so that’s in limbo right now,” selectman Joe Roach said.

With a development at Rattlesnake Hill proposed off of the street, it would be up to the developer to apply for future work on the road according to selectman Bill Heitin.
