As part of our ongoing You Ask . . . Patch Answers series, this week we checked in with local officials to see if there are alternatives to using Comcast for cable, phone and internet for residents in town.
The Comcast franchise was recently renewed for a 10-year period, according to Sharon Town Administrator Ben Puritz.
"We are continuing to explore alternatives to provide options for Sharon residents regarding Internet and telephone," said Puritz. "The town has invited Verizon FiOS to submit an application, and generally, they have ceased or substantially slowed any expansion of FiOS service in Massachusetts."
