UPDATED: Sharon Voters Head to Polls Today

At 11 a.m., 351 votes cast. Library trustee, selectman to be decided.

Today's Sharon annual town election had drawn 351 voters as of 11 a.m.

Voters will elect two Sharon Public Library trustees from among three candidates.

And choose a selectman: an incumbent or a write-in candidate.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Sharon High School.

Library trustee is the only contested office on the ballot. Incumbent and residents and are the candidates. Two three-year terms are on the ballot. Incumbent Amie Beth Saphire is not seeking re-election.

Nearly every other candidate on the ballot is unopposed.

Incumbent Selectman was in that group until last week, when resident announced he is running as a write-in candidate for the three-year term on the board.

The rest of the ballot is as follows. Incumbents have asterisks beside their names:

  • Board of assessors (three years):
  • School committee (two for three years): ,
  • Planning board (five years):

School committee members , and planning board member Susan Price, are not seeking re-election.
