Sharon Drinking Water Notice: E. Coli Detected in Well #2 but No Need To Boil Water

By Jeff Fish

The Town of Sharon has issued a Drinking Water Notice to all users of the Sharon Water Department informing them that a water sample taken on August 6 from Moose Hill Parkway Well #2 tested positive for E. Coli, an indicator for fecal matter.

The notice stressed that samples collected from the distribution system “did NOT detect an fecal contaminants.” and that this is not an emergency, but the town must notify residents because of Ground Water Rule requirements.
