Selectman Steps Down, Applies for Town Administrator Position

Deadline for applications is March 7.

Selectman Richard Powell resigned last week to apply for Sharon’s Town Administrator position, the Boston Globe is reporting.

The Sharon Town Administrator position became vacant in February when Benjamin Purtiz retired after 33 years. Puritz announced his decision to retire last September.

Sharon selectmen are expected to accept Powell’s resignation at the board’s Tuesday night meeting. The second item on the agenda addresses Powell’s resignation which would open the position to be placed on the Annual Town Election ballot.
