Romney Takes Sharon

Paul finishes a distant second, Santorum third and Gingrich fourth, according to unofficial results.

Sharon Republicans overwhelmingly supported former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney during Tuesday's presidential primary.

Romney received 762 votes (75.22 percent) in Sharon, far ahead of U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, who finished second with 107 votes (10.56 percent), according to unofficial results at the polls Tuesday night.

Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum was third in Sharon, receiving 70 votes (6.91 percent). Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia was fourth, with 56 votes (5.53 percent).

Meanwhile, in the Democratic primary, President Barack Obama received 314 Sharon votes (91.55 percent).

Votes were cast by filling in the oval next to the candidate's name, using a black pen or marker. Voters previously drew an arrow.
