Sharon Rabbi Allegedly Paid Off Milton Man to Hide Relationship With Teen

Documents were released in Stoughton District Court on Monday.

Statements released this week in Stoughton District Court reveal that Barry Starr, a former rabbi at Temple Israel of Sharon, allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy, and paid off a Milton man for his silence about the situation, reported the Boston Globe. The Milton man said he was the teen's older brother.

Starr allegedly transferred money to Nicholas Zemeitus, 29, of Milton, who then accused the rabbi of suggesting he alter the checks. The statements also allege that Starr used donations to the congregation as part of the pay-off money, said the Globe.

The relationship with the teen allegedly started when the teen was 16.
