Sharon Police Log: Reports of Damage from Hurricane Sandy

The following information was provided by the Sharon Police Department daily log. Where arrests were made, it does not indicate a conviction.

In addition to its normal call volume, the Sharon Police Department last week responded to numerous calls of fallen trees, power outages and downed wires due to the wrath of Hurricane Sandy.

Oct. 28

10:05 a.m. - An animal complaint about two dogs who were sitting in the middle of the road on East Foxboro and Wolomolopoag Street.

11:15 a.m. - A report of hazardous conditions when a Sharon resident was blowing leaves out into the street into passing traffic.

11:55 a.m. - A disturbance/possible argument on Rt. 1 Hwy. was reported.

12:02 p.m. - A report of hazardous conditions when a tree branch was laying on top of live wires.

12:16 p.m. - Larceny of a generator on Colburn Drive.

12:24 p.m. - Motor Vehicle accident with property damage on Bradford Ave. and Dunbar Street.

8:57 p.m. - Notify NSTAR of power outage on Sandy Ridge Circle.

9:14 p.m. - A motor vehicle crashed into a light post on Aspen Road. Property damage but no injuries.

Oct. 29

11:15 a.m. - A suspicious motor vehicle was reported on Forge Road and Grapeshot Road. The vehicle pulled out when the officer arrived.

11:25 a.m. - Hazardous conditions when a tree fell down into roadway on Grove Street and Woodland Street.

12:01 p.m. - Hazardous conditions when a report of a tree that fell across roadway on Bullard Street and Maskwonicut Street.

2:00 p.m. - Notify utility company on South Walpole Street where there was a report of a wire down between Pole 18 and 19.

2:24 p.m. - A tree fell on to a wire on Walpole Street and Old Post Road. Utility company was notified.

2:32 p.m. - Tree down on East Foxboro Street, the Sharon Public Works department was contacted.

2:34 p.m. - Tree resting on wires on Wolomolopoag Street and South Main. DPW was contacted.

3:33 p.m. - Another tree down laying across the roadway on Norwood Street and Edge Hill Road.

Oct. 30

3:47 p.m. - There was a report of kids lighting a fire/shooting bee bees on Oakland Road.

8:30 p.m. - A report of suspicious activity on Deborah Sampson Road when someone was trying to open the front door of the home.

Oct. 31

8:33 a.m. - A motor vehicle lock out on South Main Street.
