Sharon Fire Dept. Rescues Hawk From Netting

Crews saved the bird of prey from landscape netting on Sunday.

The Sharon Fire Department and the Animal Rescue League of Boston rescued a hawk that was trapped in landscape netting Sunday afternoon.

Officials were called to the home on Sentry Hill Road to find the large bird entangled in netting that had been placed around the shrubbery. According to the Sharon Fire Department, the netting had been placed on the shrubbery to deter deer from eating it.

The group was able to free the bird by placing a blanket over it to calm it, then cutting the netting. The rescue league tok the hawk to their facility for possible treatment.
