Sally Beauty Target of Data Breach
The company said the breach affected fewer than 25,000 customers.
Sally Beauty, which has stores all over New England, on Monday announced a data breach affected thousands of customers.
The company said it had not determined the full scope of the breach but said it involved fewer than 25,000 customers.
"We take this criminal activity very seriously," the company said in a statement. "We are working with the United States Secret Service on their preliminary investigation into the matter ... (and) we are taking necessary actions and precautions to mitigate and remediate the issues caused by this security incident."
Sally Beauty is a global beauty supply retailer and supplier based in Denton, Texas. It operates 4,669 stores across the world and recently reported annual revenue of $3.6 billion.
