Bail In Stoughton Fatal Set At 100K

The driver charged in the fatal Saturday night crash that killed an Easton woman and seriously injured two Sharon residents on Route 24 in Stoughton was ordered held on $100,000 cash bail Monday.

Patricia L. Neville-Colp, 48, of Bridgewater pled not guilty to the eight charges against her during her arraignment Monday in Stoughton District Court, said David Traub, spokesman for the Norfolk County District Attorney's office.

Judge Richard Savignano set bail at $100,000 cash and ordered Neville-Colp to undergo random alcohol and drug testing, Traub said. Savignano continued the case to Oct. 11.

Prosecutors allege Neville-Colp was driving intoxicated and under the influence of drugs during the fatal crash involving two sport-utility vehicles on Route 24 South in Stoughton, just after the Route 139 on-ramp, about 11:10 p.m. Saturday.

State Police allege 2006 Grand Cherokee driven by Neville-Colp's SUV struck a 2011 Kia Sportage driven by Sharon resident Steven H. Cadoff, causing the Kia to spin and then roll over several times.

Maureen O’Brien Ellis, 57, of Easton was ejected from the Kia and onto the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cadoff, 64, and Martha A. Cadoff, 63, also a passenger, were seriously injured. They were taken by ambulance to the Boston Medical Center. They have since been treated and released.

State Police allege Neville-Colp tried to drive away while Trooper Brian Berry tended to O'Brien Ellis, which she denied. Berry ordered her to stop.

State Police allege Neville-Colp had a strong alcohol odor on her breath, glassy and bloodshot eyes and slurred speech while Berry questioned her.

State Police charged Neville-Colp with motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of liquor, motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of drugs, operating under the influence of liquor, causing serious bodily injury, operating under the influence of drugs, causing serious bodily injury, operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a crash involving personal injury or death.

State Police also will cite Neville-Colp with a marked lanes violation.
