Governor's Council, Governor announces two new nominees.
Mary K. Ames has been nominated for associate justice of the Superior Court and Robert J. Pellegrini as associate justice of the Worcester District Court.
Both have served as assistant district attorneys. Attorney Ames is now in private practice at Galvin and Ames, Attorney Pellegrini is a supervisor in the district attorney’s office.
Attorney Ames participated in several cases on appeal while a member of the district attoney’s office. Attorney Pellegrini has been involved in several high profile cases over his career.

In 2008 Attorney Pellegrini helped prosecute a Uxbridge man for failing to put done his horse. The prosecution continued after the horse died naturally. During the last six months of its life the horse was put into a facility which cost the defendant 40,000. None the less the state persisted in its prosecution.

In 2009 Attorney Pellegrini was involved in the prosecution of a couple that mistreated children in their care. Initially the women was arrested and charged, but then the man with arrested and charged with lessor charges.
