Sharon Health Department Thanks Flu Clinic Supporters

Vaccine remains available.

To the Editor:

The Sharon Health Department would like to thank everyone involved with our recent flu clinics for their help: the registered nurses who are always ready to offer their services, the nursing students, and all those who helped with registration and crowd control.

Everyone involved helped to make these clinics run as smoothly as possible, and we couldn't do it without all their teamwork and good-natured cooperation. Thanks also to Debbie Odier of Sharon's French Memories, who provided some tasty goodies at one of our clinics.

Special appreciation goes to the Sharon Recreation Department for the use of the Community Center ballroom, as well as to Temple Sinai for the use of their facilities once again.

We still have some flu vaccine available, and will continue to provide it to those age 5 and over in our office at town hall as long as supplies last -- during our regular blood pressure screening hours: Tuesdays 3 to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. We also have some live intranasal Flumist available for residents ages 5 to 49 who qualify medically (no asthma, heart or lung disease, etc.).

There is no charge for the vaccine and no appointments are necessary. Please bring along all your medical insurance cards so that we might obtain reimbursement  for this service.
