Obituary: Lenore P. (Gay) Watts

Mrs. Lenore Watts was a long time cafeteria work at Sharon High and also worked at Crescent Ridge.

Lenore P. (Gay) Watts, 93, died in the Epoch of Sharon on Monday, June 24, 2013. Born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada on March 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred W. and Una Dell (Jay) Gay. She graduated from New Rochelle High School in New York with the class of 1936. She has been a resident of Sharon, since 1948 moving there from Back Bay.

She worked in the Sharon High School cafeteria for 35 years and also worked at the Crescent Ridge Ice Cream Stand for 11 years.

Mrs. Watts volunteered at the Senior Center in Sharon twice a week and sang in the First Congregational Church Choir in Sharon for 45 years. She enjoyed going to the Footlighters Playhouse in East Walpole as well as reading, knitting and crocheting.

She was the beloved wife of the late Paul T. Watts, loving mother of Stephen A. and his wife Claire Watts of Sharon and the late Ralph Watts, cherished grandmother of William and Jennifer, s ister of the late Thelma Whitimore and the late Samuel Gay, aunt of Wayne Whitimore and Barry Whitimore.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, High Street, Canton on Friday, June 28, at 10 a.m.. A memorial service will be held in the First Congregational Church 29 North Main St., Sharon on Saturday, June 29, at 11 a.m.. Visiting hours are omitted at the request of the family.
