Obituary: Helen I. (Gachewicz) Statham

Helen I. (Gachewicz) Statham, 95, of Sharon died April 1,  peacefully at her home at age 95. She was the beloved wife of the late William E. Statham. Born in Philadelphia PA, she was raised and educated in Canton, attending St. John's School graduating the Class of 1935.

After high school she was employed at Plymouth Rubber in Canton where she met her husband, they married in 1935, where they made their home in Sharon ever since.

A parishioner of St Johns the Evangelist Church in Canton, and Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Sharon where she a member of the Women's Club. Her devotion was to her family, children and grandchildren along with her faith.

She was the loving mother of William B. Statham of Sharon and Patricia M. Rombouts, and her husband, Jozef of Linden, Belgium, grandmother of Kenneth Rombouts of Savannah GA and Leslie Lurqin-Rombouts of Korbeek-lo, Belgium. She is predeceased by her sister Mary Olds and step-brother Charlie.

Visitation will be on Friday April 5, from 9:45-10:45 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 59 Cottage St. Sharon followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.

In lieu of flowers donations in Helen's memory can be made to Brockton Visiting Nurse Association, 500 Belmont St., Brockton 02301. Arrangements were made by the Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton.
